Created on 2024.11.15
Mandatory requirements for NFRC certification for Windows and Doors in North America:
IGCC certification for insulating glass
In July 2010, NFRC in its product certification program implemented a mandatory (NFRC 706), the statement, request for NFRC and label certified products of Insulating Glass Unit (IGU, Insulating Glass Unit) must be certified by an independent third party IG program (IGC, Insulating Glass Certification program) to meet insulating glass component performance requirements such as sealing durability.
Manufacturers of insulating glass first need to sign a license agreement to participate in the IG certification program. Any product that meets specified standards can be submitted for testing and certification, such as: triple and double glazing components, and components produced using low emissivity glass and internal dividers, and can also be evaluated for compliance with NFRC 706 requirements for inflation.
